A useful fit for

Best for someone who needs a small, movable work surface that can slide beside or partially under a bed, couch or recliner, and whose equipment fits within the manual's 15.4 lb maximum load. The H7-2816 has the smaller 27.6 × 15.7-inch top; H7-3218 offers 31.5 × 17.7 inches.

The main tradeoff

This is not a full-size electric standing desk: the single gas-spring column is adjusted by hand, the top is compact, the maximum load is only 15.4 lb, and the finished surface range tops out at 41.7 in in both manuals. The product page rounds the large and small top depths up by 0.1 in, so matching uses the stricter manual figures.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the H7 roll under a bed, sofa or recliner?

Yes. FlexiSpot describes a four-caster C-shaped base with at least 1.2 inches of furniture clearance; check that your furniture's underside and legs leave that path open.

Does the H7 arrive with its own desktop rather than a bare frame?

Yes. The H7-2816 and H7-3218 offers are complete tables with one included work surface; the small size is 27.6 × 15.7 inches and the large is 31.5 × 17.7 inches by their manuals.

Will the smaller H7 fit a 28-inch maximum tabletop length?

Yes, on its listed footprint: the H7-2816 long side is 27.6 inches. A 27-inch room limit is below both H7 sizes; also allow room for the base and the caster path.

The FlexiSpot H7 is a small rolling side table that can work as an overbed or recliner-side surface—not a conventional electric sit-stand desk. Its C-shaped base is meant to slide around furniture, four casters make it movable, and a gas spring raises the top when you operate a hand lever. That changes the buying question: the H7 makes sense if you need a compact surface close to a bed, couch or chair, but not if you want a large motorized workstation for a heavy monitor setup.

Two fixed tabletop sizes, eight exact U.S. finishes

FlexiSpot offers H7-2816 with a 27.6 × 15.7-inch top and H7-3218 with a 31.5 × 17.7-inch top in the matching manuals. The product page rounds the depths up by a tenth of an inch, to 15.8 and 17.8 inches; I use the manual's smaller numbers when checking fit. Each size is sold in Black, White and Mahogany. A separate U.S. Mint page adds H7MT-2816 and H7MT-3218, so the eight listed codes are H7D-2816MZ, H7W-2816MZ, H7B-2816MZ, H7W-3218MZ, H7B-3218MZ, H7D-3218MZ, H7MT-2816 and H7MT-3218. These are complete tabletop configurations, not a frame that requires a separate desktop purchase.

The larger top adds about four inches to each side, which can matter for a laptop, notebook and a few small items, but both versions share the same 15.4-pound (7 kg) maximum load in their manuals. The manufacturer does not label that as a static or moving rating. Treat it as the limit for the complete working surface, not a carrying allowance for a large monitor arm or a stack of equipment. Before buying, weigh the gear you intend to use and check its footprint; a stated capacity does not guarantee that a particular device will fit on this small top.

Useful when the base can reach your seat

FlexiSpot describes a low-profile C-shaped base with four hidden casters and a minimum 1.2-inch clearance for sliding under furniture. That layout lets the top come toward a chair, sofa or bed instead of making you sit directly in front of a desk's broad crossbar. It also gives you a small surface to move between rooms. The pages do not confirm caster brakes, so I would not assume the wheels lock; park it on a flat surface and keep the base clear of rugs, thresholds and furniture legs before raising or lowering it.

The manuals place the work surface from 26.0 to 41.7 inches above the floor. The product page rounds the high end to 41.8 inches. This is a finished-table height, unlike the bare-frame range commonly reported for electric desks. Measure your own seated or standing elbow position and the furniture opening, then compare those measurements with the actual tabletop and base path. The H7 may be convenient for a laptop or reading session, but that height range is not a promise that it will align ergonomically for every bed, chair or standing user.

Hand-assisted lift and cooperative assembly

The H7 has one two-stage lifting column and a gas spring, not an electric motor. There is no keypad, memory preset or powered height control to plug in. The manual shows the handle being toggled while the top is lifted to raise it; to lower it, operate the handle while pressing the marked area of the tabletop, then release the handle at the chosen height. In practical terms, expect to guide the surface during adjustment rather than tap a button and let a motor do the work.

The parts list includes the tabletop, crossbeam, spring, handle, lifting column, base, cup holder, screws and wrench. The manual recommends cooperative assembly and a carpeted work area to avoid scratches. It also gives a specific orientation for the spring, handle and crossbeam notches, so follow the exact-size guide instead of guessing from a product photo. The cup holder can be installed in a location that suits the setup. I have not assembled or load-tested this table, and the maker's short assembly-time language is not a hands-on estimate from me.

Where the H7 stops being a desk

At 15.4 pounds maximum and less than 18 inches deep, the H7 is not interchangeable with a full rectangular electric desk. It has no documented desktop drawer, cable tray, outlet panel or memory control, and its H7-specific warranty length is not clear in the generic warranty text on the pages checked. The short surface and manually guided lift are the tradeoffs for a base that can move close to furniture. If you want a permanent two-leg workstation with a larger compatible top and electric controls, the FlexiSpot E7 Mini is a more desk-like compact option; its documented 32 × 24-inch top is larger, but it is not a rolling overbed table. If integrated storage and a 55 × 28-inch work surface matter more than mobility, compare the Comhar Pro Q8 instead.

What the finder choices change

Choose the one-column rolling-table option and require a surface that rolls under furniture if that is essential; those choices keep the H7 distinct from fixed desk frames. Requiring an included desktop fits either complete H7 size, while a frame-only preference rules it out. The two size plans also let a 28-inch maximum tabletop length fit only the H7-2816 footprint; a stricter 27-inch maximum fits neither, and a request for a full 32-inch-long top is beyond both manual-listed surfaces. The H7's published capacity does not qualify as a confirmed static rating, so a hard static-load requirement should not be treated as met.

This assessment is based on FlexiSpot's U.S. product pages and both exact size-specific H7 manuals. No hands-on testing was performed. The image is the manufacturer's H7 lifestyle rendering, not a photograph, and it does not identify the color or size selected for purchase. It suits small, mobile tasks; sustained work with larger equipment calls for a standard desk.

Paper, software and setup details

Desktop and configuration note

The top is included in the exact H7 size/finish offers. The small surface is best treated as a compact laptop/tablet or reading-work surface; check your actual equipment and total load against the 15.4 lb manual limit.

Load-rating interpretation

Both size-specific manuals state 15.4 lb (7 kg) maximum load capacity; the U.S. page says 15.43 lb. The manufacturer does not label this a static or motorized lifting rating, so those generic ratings remain unknown. This is a light-use table, not a heavy monitor-arm workstation.

Operating and setup note

A gas spring and manual handle raise/lower the tabletop; there is no electric motor, keypad, memory preset or powered lift. The manual says to lift the top while operating the handle to raise it and press the marked tabletop area while releasing the handle to lower it. It depicts cooperative assembly and a cup holder that can be mounted where convenient.
