Model fit and setup

Fit the FlexiSpot E2L in a corner workspace

An L-shaped desk can solve a useful space problem, but its listing dimensions are not a room plan. Before choosing the FlexiSpot E2L, measure the corner as two joined arms, confirm which tabletop parts are included, and check the route that the full surface follows while it rises.

Draw both arms, including the return

Start with the longest wall-side run and the shorter return. Mark the outside footprint on the floor with painter's tape or cardboard, then add the positions of the feet, chair and any drawers. Leave room to sit down, move the chair and reach the back corner. Check doors, radiators, baseboards, windows and outlets; a top that fits its nominal length can still collide with trim or block a walkway.

The current E2L listing has chipboard tops in 63-by-47 and 71-by-48-inch outlines, and bamboo versions in 63-by-47 and 71-by-47 inches. The manufacturer's component chart describes the joined boards: a 40-by-24-inch section and a 48-by-24-inch section for the smaller top, or two 48-by-24-inch sections for the larger one. Treat the code and material as part of the configuration; a large composite outline does not mean either board is that entire width. If you are sourcing your own top, use the page's L-shaped side ranges and the manual's two layout diagrams rather than assuming the frame accepts arbitrary perpendicular boards.

Included top or frame only?

The E2L listing requires the frame but makes the L-shaped desktop component optional. An included-top order is easiest when one of the listed material and size combinations fits your space. The reviewed chipboard and bamboo options use 24-inch-deep board sections, so they do not satisfy a requirement for a 30-inch-deep surface. A frame-only selection gives you more flexibility: FlexiSpot lists 23.6–31.5 inches for the main top depth and the manual depicts compatible corner arrangements. But that is not a blank cheque to add a heavier, thicker or differently shaped surface. Keep each section within the published dimensions, mount it according to the manual, and account for the return's weight and support placement.

Translate desk height into work-surface height

FlexiSpot's page comparison gives 28–47.6 inches with the top, while the E2L-V3 manual table lists 28.3–45.8 inches and does not state the same measurement basis. Because the page and manual do not state a directly comparable basis, do not use either figure as a guaranteed bare-frame endpoint for a strict fit. Measure the assembled desk with the chosen top to estimate where your keyboard will sit. For an L-shaped surface, the whole connected work area rises together, so the return does not remain at a separate fixed level.

Allow room below and around the desk

The E2L has a three-foot structure with two lifting columns and a single motor. Before assembly, check where the three feet land relative to chair legs, a file cabinet and the corner walls. The manual calls for cooperative assembly, a Phillips screwdriver or drill that is not supplied, carpet protection while laying out the frame, and a two-minute operating period followed by 18 minutes off. It lists cable ties rather than a cable tray. Leave slack for the entire lift and avoid routing leads around a return where they could be stretched or snagged.

Choose the E2L for the corner footprint, not because it is a generic larger version of a rectangular desk. If you do not need the return, the regular E2 takes less planning; if you need a four-leg rectangular platform, compare the E7 Plus separately. Read the E2L review and verify your selected frame and desktop components on the manufacturer's product page before ordering.

Make the measurements work before choosing a finish.
