A useful fit for

A complete 60-by-60-inch outside L footprint for a corner where two linked work zones are useful but a longer return would crowd the room. It preserves the same 25–50.5-inch surface range and 200-pound published maximum as the larger L options while taking less wall space.

The main tradeoff

The L outline is not a 60-inch-square board, and one connected control moves the full worktop rather than two separate height stations. The desk is heavy, requires two-person assembly, has a 25-inch lower surface limit, and does not include compatible cable/accessory add-ons. The capacity basis is not identified as static or dynamic.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Will the outside L footprint stay within a 60-by-60-inch corner?

The included 60x60 L is measured by its outside envelope, not a solid square. The exact drawing shows 27.5-inch arm depths and a shaped inner opening; a stricter 59-inch wall run excludes it.

Can the finished surface reach a 25-inch minimum height?

The current desk page and exact manual state a 25–50.5-inch work-surface range. A requirement for a surface at 24 inches or lower is not met.

Does the complete desk package include its cable tray?

No. The exact page lists a compatible cable-management tray as an accessory, so compatibility-only qualifies; a required included tray does not.

The Vari L-Shape Electric Standing Desk 60x60 is the corner option for a room where the L outline is valuable but a much longer return would crowd the chair, a doorway, or other furniture. The U.S. product page identifies master FD-LSESD6060; this review follows the Reclaimed Wood/Slate SKU 403547 as its example. The 60-by-60-inch outside footprint and 25-to-50.5-inch work-surface range make it a complete sit-stand desk, not a bare frame. Its three lifting legs and one shared control arrangement move the connected L as one workstation.

A corner plan, not a 60-inch square board

The size label describes the outside envelope, not a solid square writing surface. The manufacturer’s drawing shows two 27.5-inch-deep arms and a shaped inside corner, so the useful working zones follow the L rather than filling a 60-by-60 rectangle. That shape can keep a corner station compact while giving a main work side and a return for a printer, notes, or less frequently used equipment. It is not a two-person desk with independent height controls: the manual connects three leg motors to one control box and one handset.

The 60x60 is meaningfully smaller than Vari’s 80x60 L desk. The longer variant offers a wider primary run but occupies more of a wall; the 80x80 is a much larger corner installation. Choose based on measured wall lengths and the room’s traffic path, not on a general desire for “more desk.” Include room for the chair, knees, cable loops, and the surface through the entire vertical travel. The short shape is still a heavy 171.42-pound manufacturer-listed product, and the desk’s legs and feet occupy usable floor space.

The controls and limits worth checking

Vari specifies 200 pounds of capacity, three whisper-quiet motors, four programmable height positions, and a working-surface range from 25 to 50.5 inches. That range comes from the page and manual; it is not the height of a bare frame. A user who needs the top below 25 inches should look elsewhere, and a user who needs a desk above 50.5 inches should not treat the adjustable upper limit as extra travel. The load figure is published without a clear static-versus-moving definition or an explanation of remaining payload after adding the surface and equipment. Treat it as the manufacturer’s maximum, not a measured capacity test, and get clarification if the distinction is essential.

The display stores four positions, which is more useful than a single up/down switch when one user regularly alternates between measured seated and standing settings. It does not verify that those settings suit a particular chair, monitor, or keyboard. The manual also permits upper and lower travel limits; this can help keep a monitor arm or other planned item away from a fixed obstacle, but the desk should still be installed with the documented clearance.

Assembly and cable planning are real parts of ownership

The 60x60 manual shows separate desktop pieces, three legs, rails, plates, a control box, a handset, and motor extensions. It marks two people as required and describes three shipping boxes that may arrive separately. The top and frame are assembled together face-down before the desk is turned upright, so clear a large, flat work area and do not plan on lifting the finished unit alone. Vari says the 1¼-inch surface is 3D laminate-wrapped; the “wood” finish names describe the look, not a promise of solid wood. The manual and current page do not disclose the desktop’s internal substrate.

A cable-management tray is listed as a compatible accessory, not as an included part of the desk. The manufacturer separately lists options such as storage, monitor arms, and privacy panels; verify fit and location before ordering an add-on. The in-box extras listed on the desk page are two hooks, cable wraps, and a coaster, not the monitors and accessories pictured in the room scene. The manual says to leave at least one inch from nearby surfaces, keep cords out of the travel path, and avoid obstruction. It limits repeated upward/downward movement to two minutes during any 20-minute period to guard against overheating. The anti-collision feature is described in the manual, including adjustable sensitivity; that is not an independent test or a reason to leave a person or pet in the desk’s path.

Who should choose it—and who should not

This is a reasonable match if a 60x60 corner envelope works, a fixed pre-drilled L surface is preferable to choosing your own rectangular top, and one shared height for the full workspace is exactly what you need. The six current finish selectors change top and frame appearance, not the footprint, lifting range, or operating plan. The pictured Reclaimed Wood/Slate example is a manufacturer image; whether the staged room is photographed, rendered, or composited is uncertain, and its chair, displays, monitor arms, and decorative objects are not confirmed as included.

Compare the 80x60 if you need a longer main run but can spare additional wall length, or the 80x80 if a substantially broader corner layout is necessary and the room can accept its large assembled footprint. A conventional rectangular desk is easier to fit in the middle of a room and may leave more straightforward edges for clamp-on accessories. A frame-only system gives more control over the top you choose, but adds the work of checking tabletop compatibility and supplying that surface. In the finder, this Vari fits an included L-shaped plan up to 60 inches wide and deep; a hard need for a 24-inch surface minimum, a separate independent second station, an included cable tray, or a confirmed static-load threshold is not established by the reviewed configuration.

Paper, software and setup details

Desktop and configuration note

Complete 60x60 L-shaped desk with an included laminate desktop, three connected lift legs, four height memories and a 25–50.5-inch finished-surface range. The full L moves together from one control panel. It is not a frame-only plan or a rectangular desktop.

Load-rating interpretation

The product page, exact instruction manual and official sheet state a maximum capacity of 200 lb. They do not define static versus dynamic basis, load distribution over the L, or remaining equipment payload after the included top; the static/dynamic fact fields remain unknown.

Operating and setup note

Three lifting legs/motors connect to one control box and one handset, so the connected L-shaped work surface moves together. Four saved heights are documented. Keep the one-inch clearance, cable path and manufacturer duty limit.
