Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Would a dry-erase work surface help you keep short-lived notes beside your work?
Yes. UPLIFT identifies this one-inch Whiteboard Laminate top for temporary notes and drawing with dry-erase markers. This exact top also has two black covered grommet openings, so it is not an uncut desktop.

The selector calls this the 48 × 30-inch top; TOP310 specifies 47.2 inches on its long side and 29.5 inches front-to-back. Use those actual dimensions for a tight fit.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the surface lower to 29.8 inches or less?
The FRM240 sheet gives a 29.75-inch minimum finished surface height with the one-inch desktop and no casters. It meets a 29.8-inch maximum-minimum requirement, but not 29.7 inches.

This configuration puts a dry-erase work surface on UPLIFT’s unplugged, manually raised FRM240 desk. Choose it for temporary notes you want to write beside your keyboard—not because you expect a motor, stored heights, or an ordinary uncut top.
A useful work surface, not just a color choice
The reason to select this top is practical: the manufacturer identifies its one-inch Whiteboard Laminate desktop for temporary notes, doodling and drawing with dry-erase markers. That can put a short checklist, sketch or working idea right next to the task it supports. It is more than choosing a white finish, but it is also a limited writing area: the selected size is the nominal 48 × 30-inch desktop, not a wall-length planning board. UPLIFT’s desktop specification sheet gives the actual top dimensions as 47.2 inches across by 29.5 inches deep. Measure the usable footprint against those figures if a tight desk alcove or a minimum surface size matters.
The selected top is part of the UPLIFT Pneumatic Standing Desk, not the electrically raised V3 Whiteboard Desk that UPLIFT also sells. Here the lift is the FRM240: two legs and synchronized pneumatic pistons operated by a manual paddle. There is no lift motor, electrical cord or programmable keypad in this plan, so it can be raised without a nearby outlet. In exchange, it has no stored sitting or standing positions; the user moves the paddle and guides the surface manually. That makes the whiteboard top an unusual fit for someone who values an unplugged mechanism but wants notes visible while changing posture.
Height and load need the exact setup
With this one-inch top and no casters, the FRM240 specification gives a completed surface range of 29.75 to 46 inches. These are manufacturer figures for the specified top thickness, not measurements from a test. A caster-equipped plan sits higher: UPLIFT lists several wheel options with different rises, so do not transfer this configuration’s low endpoint to one of those plans. If your seated position needs a lower surface than 29.75 inches, or if you need a taller upper endpoint, verify the numbers against the exact combination rather than the family name.
The same FRM240 sheet distinguishes a 55-pound dynamic lifting figure from a 220-pound static figure, and says both include the desktop. The 220-pound number is not a remaining equipment payload after accounting for the top, monitor arms or other objects. Nor should the larger static figure be substituted for the moving-load limit. If the equipment load is close to either published figure, ask the maker how it applies to your assembled configuration instead of treating the number as safe capacity left over.
Two covered openings, not built-in charging
This exact plan selects two black grommet covers with the Whiteboard desktop. UPLIFT explains that covers can rotate open for wire pass-through, but covers do not supply AC outlets or USB charging. If an uncut top is essential, choose a separately listed no-grommet desktop instead; this whiteboard selection is not that version. If powered access matters, that requires a different grommet configuration and its own compatibility check.
Care is part of the tradeoff
Use only dry-erase markers on the writing surface. UPLIFT’s care guidance warns that other marker types may become permanent and says to remove the protective film applied for shipping and assembly before writing. For residue, it recommends a clean cloth with water and a little dish soap or its named whiteboard cleaner; it specifically cautions against Lysol wipes and Magic Eraser products, which can damage the surface. The marker and eraser are not the desk’s reason to save money on paper if you still need to buy those tools: UPLIFT’s whiteboard information says they are separate items.
This care requirement makes the top a poor match for a shared household desk where permanent markers are easy to reach, a surface that must remain blank without routine wiping, or a user who wants the texture and appearance of wood. Treat it as a work tool that needs the right marker and periodic cleaning. The manufacturer describes the surface as laminate, not a glass whiteboard, and its care notes do not make it scratch-proof or maintenance-free.
Who should shortlist it?
It suits someone who really will write short-lived notes on the desktop, has room for the actual 47.2 × 29.5-inch top, accepts two covered grommet openings, and wants a manual lift that does not depend on mains power. It is less compelling if the whiteboard feature would go unused: a standard 48 × 30 laminate top on the same Pneumatic family keeps the same basic manual mechanism without the dedicated writing surface. If one-touch height changes or memory presets are important, compare electric desks instead. If you need a larger marker area, a separate wall board can offer much more writing space while leaving the desktop open.
Plan on two-person assembly as the FRM240 instructions recommend, then follow the manual’s clearance and cable-slack precautions around the moving frame. The desktop’s white surface can make notes easy to see, but marker supplies, an eraser and the intended cleaning routine are part of owning this particular setup. The practical choice is straightforward: shortlist it when you will use the desktop as a whiteboard often enough to justify its care; otherwise, choose a conventional top or a separate board.

Paper, software and setup details
Desktop and configuration note
Selector calls the top 48 × 30 × 1-inch Whiteboard Laminate; the exact TOP310 sheet gives the physical dimensions as 47.2 × 29.5 inches. The maker specifies dry-erase markers/erasers; tools are separate. Two black cover grommets are selected.
Load-rating interpretation
FRM240 values are 55 lb dynamic and 220 lb static, each inclusive of desktop weight; neither is a remaining equipment payload.
Operating and setup note
Manual paddle and pneumatic pistons require no lift outlet. This setup has no keypad, memory presets or motor.
