UPLIFT Pneumatic 48 × 30 Whiteboard Desk with Pop-Up Power review

A U.S. selector configuration combining the one-inch Whiteboard Laminate desktop, manual black FRM240 pneumatic frame, one black PDC013 Pop Up Power Grommet and one black cover, with no casters. The lift is manually operated and does not require mains power; the powered grommet needs a grounded 120V supply and eight inches of space beneath its hole.

A useful fit for

A measured, dry-erase workspace for someone who wants four desktop AC outlets concealed when the PDC013 is lowered, can supply a grounded outlet, and can leave the required clearance below the grommet hole.

The main tradeoff

This package permanently uses a desktop opening for a pop-up power module and requires 8 inches beneath that hole. Manufacturer cord-length sources conflict (5, 6 and 10 feet); do not rely on a specific reach until the shipped cord is checked. The lift remains manual and the 55-pound dynamic figure includes the desktop.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Do you want desktop outlets that stay flush until you raise the power module?

This exact TOP310/FRM240 configuration selects the black PDC013 pop-up module plus one black cover. The PDC013 top sits flush, leaves charging USB accessible, and raises to reveal four AC outlets.

Can you keep eight inches of open space directly below the chosen grommet hole?

The PDC013 installation instructions require eight inches of under-hole clearance for its power cord. A cabinet, frame rail or other obstruction at the hole matters even though the board thickness fits.

Explore this need in the finder →
Will the PDC013’s supplied cord safely reach a grounded outlet with height-change slack?

The component’s specification, instructions and current product page list conflicting lengths of five, six and ten feet. Measure the route and verify the delivered cable; this setup does not claim a confirmed reach.

Do you want the dry-erase Whiteboard surface for short-lived notes?

UPLIFT lists the one-inch TOP310 Whiteboard Laminate for dry-erase use; the actual size is 47.2 × 29.5 inches despite the nominal 48 × 30 label.

Can the lift work without an outlet even if the desktop power ports require one?

The FRM240 moves through a manual paddle and pneumatic pistons without mains power. The PDC013 ports still need a separate grounded 120V supply.

This assessment is for one configuration in UPLIFT’s U.S. Pneumatic Standing Desk selector: the nominal 48 × 30-inch, one-inch Whiteboard Laminate top (TOP310), black FRM240 frame, the black “Pop Up Power + Cover” grommet choice, and no casters. The selector’s grommet value 16971 names the KITGROMMET-PDC013-BLK combination. It puts a PDC013 Pop Up Power Grommet in one desktop opening and a black pass-through cover in the other. That is not the same equipment as the neighboring Whiteboard configuration with two plain covers or the configuration with the PDC019 fixed power grommet.

A pop-up outlet station instead of an always-open power block

With the PDC013 lowered, its top sits flush and its two USB-A ports and one USB-C charging port remain accessible. Press the top down to raise the unit and expose four grounded 120-volt outlets, one on each side. UPLIFT states PD20W maximum for the USB-C port and 800 joules of surge protection; the instructions mark the unit ETL-listed for the U.S. and Canada. USB is for charging, not data transfer. Those distinctions matter if you want a dock or hub: the grommet adds power access but does not become a USB data hub, and “up to 20 watts” does not promise that every device will charge at that rate.

Closing the pop-up hides the AC sockets, which can make a writing surface less cluttered between uses. The tradeoff is a moving cylinder that needs a correctly drilled opening and room below it. The PDC013 instructions call for an 80 mm (3.15-inch) desktop hole and eight inches of open space directly beneath that hole so the cord can bend without strain. The selected TOP310 is one inch thick, within the published installation thickness ranges. Check the actual hole position against the frame, cable hardware, drawers, and anything you plan to store below; a nominally compatible desktop is not enough if a rail or cabinet occupies that clearance.

Measure the outlet route instead of trusting one cord number

The exact PDC013 documentation is inconsistent about cord length. Its specification sheet says five feet, its installation instructions say six, and UPLIFT’s current product page advertises ten feet. The full plan’s product information therefore does not establish one dependable reach for a particular shipped unit. Measure from the likely plug point to a grounded 120-volt outlet along a safe route that leaves slack as the desk changes height, then confirm the supplied cord length before relying on this setup. The instructions warn that the unit needs a grounded supply; this is not a way to power the lift without an outlet. The FRM240 lift is manual and pneumatic, so it can adjust without mains power, but the PDC013 outlets and USB ports cannot work without their own electrical supply.

The instructions also give a component maximum of 1,875 watts, 15 amps and 125 volts. Treat that as the grommet’s rating, not an independent test of a room circuit or permission to exceed the applicable electrical requirements. Keep liquid away from the unit and do not install it where the required underside clearance is blocked.

The writing surface and pneumatic frame still set the desk’s fit

UPLIFT calls the top 48 × 30 inches in the selector; the TOP310 specification sheet gives actual dimensions of 47.2 × 29.5 inches and documents the Whiteboard Laminate surface for dry-erase notes. Use those actual measurements for a tight alcove. A whiteboard can keep short-lived lists or sketches at hand, but it is a laminate writing surface, not a glass board or a solid-wood desktop. The top has two openings in this plan; the cover closes one, while the PDC013 occupies the other.

The black FRM240 uses a hand paddle and synchronized pneumatic pistons rather than electric motors or a programmable keypad. With this one-inch top and no casters, the manufacturer lists a 29.75-to-46-inch work-surface range. Its 55-pound dynamic and 220-pound static figures both include the desktop; the larger static number is not remaining payload for a monitor, computer and accessories. Those are stated limits, not measurements of this assembled option. If saved-height buttons, an electric lift, a shallower top, or a different lower height is essential, compare the relevant motorized or alternate-size desk rather than assuming the PDC013 changes frame performance.

Who should choose this exact branch?

It suits someone who wants the dry-erase top, a manual lift, and several AC outlets that can be tucked flush when not in use, and who can leave the PDC013’s required clearance under the opening. It is a poor choice if the desktop must be uncut, the grommet cannot reach a grounded outlet, an obstruction sits within eight inches below the hole, or a specific cord length is an essential requirement that has not been confirmed. The matcher treats the last requirement as unknown rather than converting the product page’s longest claim into a guarantee.

If you want a simpler, permanently accessible pair of outlets and USB charging, compare the separate PDC019 Whiteboard configuration. If desk power is unnecessary, the two-cover Whiteboard plan preserves the same top, frame and lift without a powered grommet. Requiring a pop-up power station in the finder distinguishes this plan from both: the two tops and pneumatic lift are shared, but the desktop hardware, outlet behavior, installation clearance and cord uncertainty are not.

This is a source-based configuration assessment, not a hands-on stability, charging-speed or electrical safety test. Check the current UPLIFT Pneumatic selector, the PDC013 specification sheet, the PDC013 installation instructions, and the TOP310 desktop sheet together. A different top, grommet package or caster choice changes the configuration assessed here.

Paper, software and setup details

Desktop and configuration note

The selector pairs Whiteboard Laminate option 34635 (whiteboard--48x30--G) with black Pop Up Power + Cover option 16971 (KITGROMMET-PDC013-BLK), black FRM240 option 14687, and no casters. The TOP310 specification gives actual 47.2 × 29.5-inch dimensions for the nominal 48 × 30 selection. The PDC013 supplies four AC outlets, two USB-A and one USB-C charging port; it needs grounded 120V power independent of the manual lift. The PDC013 spec, instructions and current product page disagree on cord length, so a generic cord-reach value is not confirmed.

Load-rating interpretation

FRM240 values are 55 lb dynamic and 220 lb static, each inclusive of desktop weight; neither is a remaining equipment payload.

Operating and setup note

Manual paddle and pneumatic pistons require no lift outlet. This setup has no keypad, memory presets or motor.
