Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
What minimum tabletop length must the chosen configuration support?
This exact complete Duo plan includes a 58-inch-long top; larger or shorter size choices are separate selector configurations.
Explore this need in the finder →What minimum desktop depth must the chosen desk support?
This plan's exact included surface is 27 inches deep; verify this is enough for the actual monitor stand, keyboard and work area.
Explore this need in the finder →What is the highest acceptable minimum desktop-surface height?
The manufacturer specifies a 28-inch minimum finished work-surface height for this Duo size; this does not establish a lower bare-frame endpoint.
Explore this need in the finder →The Branch Duo in Woodgrain laminate with white legs and a 58 × 27-inch desktop is the largest of the three Duo sizes covered here. The extra ten inches of width over the 48-inch version and three inches of depth can make a meaningful difference if a two-monitor layout, keyboard, mouse and a few daily tools need to coexist. It also requires a larger room footprint and has a specific accessory restriction: Branch says the Large Desk Tray is not compatible with the 58-inch version.
Configuration and dimensions
The reviewed configuration is a complete desk with a selected Woodgrain top and white legs, not a frame awaiting a separately sourced surface. The manufacturer identifies the Woodgrain finish in its laminate group; Natural Oak is a separate veneer selection. The 58 × 27-inch size is the widest and deepest Duo option documented on the product page. Its published work-surface range is 28 to 47.3 inches, identical to the smaller models. That is the height of the complete working surface, rather than a bare-frame measurement, and should be checked against your seated and standing positions before purchase.
The product is a two-column, dual-motor electric desk with collision detection. Branch lists a 19.3-inch lift range, two stored positions, reminders, an operating speed of 1.3 inches per second and noise under 50 dB. Those last figures are the manufacturer’s specifications rather than results from a comparative lab test. The page also gives a 275-pound lift capacity or weight limit, but does not identify whether that is a static rating, dynamic rating, or remaining payload after the desktop and add-ons. Do not treat it as a precise safe-load threshold when that distinction is essential.
Room for a more involved setup
Branch’s FAQ specifically says the 48- and 58-inch Duo can fit two monitors. The 58-inch desktop adds room around the screens and more front-to-back space than the 48 × 24 version; that is useful when display stands, speakers or other equipment occupy the back of the top. It is still a 27-inch-deep rectangle, not an L-shaped workstation. Measure the monitor stand footprint, keyboard, mouse travel and any clamp-on hardware rather than interpreting “two monitors” as a guarantee that every arrangement will fit.
Because the 58-inch desktop has a different shape and a separate one-page assembly sheet, use the documentation that matches it. The main Duo manual says to assemble with two people, route the leg and handset wires carefully, initialize the desk before the first lift, and keep cords clear of the moving structure. It cautions against sitting or standing on the desk and modifying electrical parts. The 58-inch assembly sheet should be kept with the desk instructions instead of assuming that every wiring or rail picture for the smaller sizes transfers exactly.
Controls and add-ons
The programmable paddle offers an OLED height display, two presets and a reminder that can use vibration or a screen alert. This supports a simple seated/standing routine, but two saved values may feel limiting for several users or distinct work surfaces. The Branch Ergonomics app requires a separately purchased Bluetooth Adapter; neither the app nor adapter should be assumed included in this base configuration. The desk’s cable notch and included clips are different from the optional cable organizer or tray. The drawer, power module and other accessories are also separately selected unless the checkout configuration says otherwise.
Take the Large Desk Tray exclusion into account early if that add-on is part of your plan. Branch lists other attachments such as hooks, a headphone stand, monitor stand and monitor arm, but compatibility labels are not proof that a particular accessory is included or appropriate for your equipment. Check the exact item and selected size before making an order. The brand’s collection presents Tria as a separate model with more range and built-in connectivity; that may be a better comparison if those features outweigh staying with the Duo design, though the Tria’s technical facts must be verified independently.
Who should choose this size?
Choose 58 × 27 when you have space to spare and can make use of the deeper, wider top. Choose 48 × 24 if the FAQ’s two-screen capability is relevant but the larger footprint or Large Tray incompatibility is a drawback. Choose 36 × 24 when a compact room matters more than extra equipment area. All three sizes share the same published height endpoints and two-preset interface, so the size decision is mainly about surface footprint and the accessories you plan to add, not a different height range.
The manufacturer describes a ten-year warranty, but warranty details and exclusions should be reviewed in their current form. This article relies on the official product specifications and the 58-inch assembly sheet; it does not claim personal ownership or independent load, speed, noise or stability tests. Before buying, verify that 58 × 27 inches fits the room, confirm your working heights, check accessory compatibility and decide whether the manufacturer’s unspecified 275-pound rating basis is adequate for your situation. Compare the 48 × 24 option, the 36 × 24 option, or use the Duo size guide to check the footprint before adding equipment.
