A useful fit for

Consider this selected plan when a 42 × 24 Walnut Laminate surface fits a suitable wall and you prefer an uninterrupted top with power equipment kept separate. It is not freestanding and does not include desktop AC outlets, USB ports, grommet modules or a cable cover.

The main tradeoff

The no-hole option avoids two desktop cutouts but gives up integrated power and a cable pass-through. The wall-mounted FRM075 still needs structural attachment and mains power. Its 175-lb capacity includes the top; the top weight and remaining payload are unknown. FRM072 is hold-to-move, with saved-height count, lock and travel stops undocumented.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Do you want an included 42 × 24 desktop with no grommet holes?

The selected UPL075-NG top is 42 × 24 Walnut Laminate and the manufacturer labels option 13221 No Grommet Holes. It suits a compact wall layout that deliberately keeps charging and cable pass-through outside the surface.

Will the 42-inch top fit your wall span without sacrificing needed work area?

It is the 42 × 24 option. If you need a 48-inch minimum, select the longer sibling; measure the wall and equipment rather than relying on a lifestyle image.

Do you need AC outlets or USB charging built into the desktop?

This no-grommet selection has no desktop power module or integrated outlets. If that is essential, this exact plan is not suitable; its lift still needs mains power.

Do you need saved heights or an angled, hold-to-move control?

FRM072-BLK is an angled Basic Display control with hold-to-move buttons. Saved-height count, lock and user-set stops are not established.

UPLIFT UPL075 42 × 24 Walnut Laminate no-grommet desk review

This assessment covers the U.S. UPLIFT Wall Mounted Standing Desk set to a 42 × 24-inch, one-inch Walnut Laminate top, the manufacturer’s “No Grommet Holes in Desktop” option, the black FRM075 wall-mounted frame and the black FRM072-BLK Basic Display Angled keypad. The selected page identifies the top as UPL075-walnut-lam-42x24-NG. It does not establish one combined order SKU, current stock or a lasting price.

Choose the wall and footprint before the woodgrain

The top is 42 inches wide by 24 inches deep. That is a compact rectangular work surface for a narrow wall span or a room where a full 48-inch top will not fit. The 48 × 24 sibling keeps the same depth and adds six inches of width, so compare the space you need for a display, keyboard, writing, and the things you leave out rather than treating the shorter width as a universal space-saver. Measure the wall and the actual moving clearance; a narrow top still needs room for hands, cords, and the motorized column.

This is a one-inch laminate surface labeled Walnut Laminate, not Walnut Butcher Block or solid walnut. If an actual wood surface is essential, choose a separately documented material rather than reading a woodgrain appearance as a material claim. The exact page’s dimensions are useful for planning, but the product image is only an UPL075 family view and does not prove the selected finish or no-hole top.

The FRM075 is a single powered column that attaches to a wall. The floor below it is open, but this is not a freestanding base you can shift to another room. UPLIFT’s instructions specify structural attachment and describe lag screws intended for wood studs at least 2 × 4 inches; fasteners for steel studs or cinder block are not included. If the wall type or its ability to carry the mount is uncertain, do not substitute guesswork for an installer’s assessment. The manual also calls for two-person assembly, a nearby grounded outlet, and clear travel space.

A continuous top, with power kept off the desktop

Option 13221 is explicitly “No Grommet Holes in Desktop.” That gives this particular top an uncut surface rather than two openings occupied by power modules or a cover. There is no built-in AC outlet, USB charging panel, pop-up power unit, or covered cable pass-through in this plan. That is a deliberate advantage if you want to decide where separate chargers or a power strip sit, or simply prefer not to route wires through the worktop. It is a poor match if your ordinary setup depends on outlets or USB ports built into the surface.

No grommet holes do not mean a cordless desk. The lift still needs its power connection, and the monitor and task-light leads still need a safe path that stays clear as the desk moves. Plan the external strip and cord slack before assembly; do not let cables hang where a rising column can pull or pinch them. For a covered route plus one pop-up module, compare the 42 × 24 UPL075 with one pop-up power unit and a cover. For more on-top outlets without a separate covered opening, the dual-pop-up 42 × 24 version is the closer alternative.

Height, load and the basic angled control

UPLIFT’s FRM075 specification gives a 22.6–48.7-inch work-surface range when paired with a one-inch top, and lists 175 pounds of lifting capacity inclusive of the desktop. The selected top’s own weight is not stated in the reviewed material, so 175 pounds is not a remaining payload figure for a monitor, arms, books and peripherals. Keep the specification’s basis in mind if you are comparing a quoted load number from another brand.

The selected FRM072-BLK is an angled Basic Display keypad: it has an up/down readout and uses hold-to-move controls. It is simpler than a one-touch preset controller. Its inspected specification and instructions do not state saved-height memory, a keypad lock, or user-set upper and lower stops. An essential requirement for any of those functions should rule this plan out rather than be inferred from the display. A documented FRM703 configuration is a more suitable comparison when saved positions or flush mounting matter.

The full desk requires a suitable wall, permanent attachment and mains power. The black wall support, Walnut Laminate top and FRM072 control form a concise setup, but there is no built-in grommet accessory to solve cable routing for you. The separate keypad photograph and family desk image are illustrative, not evidence that this exact no-hole package has been assembled or photographed.

Who should shortlist it?

Consider this selection when you have an approved structural wall, want a 42 × 24 laminate surface, and prefer no top openings so you can manage charging separately. Skip it if you cannot anchor a desk to the wall, need a freestanding frame, want integrated outlets or a cable cover, need a 48-inch minimum, or require confirmed memory features from the keypad. The useful distinction is not that this plan has fewer parts: it is that the top has no grommet holes and therefore keeps power and pass-through choices outside the desktop. Read UPLIFT’s selected no-hole UPL075 configuration, the FRM075 assembly instructions, and its frame specification before treating it as a fit for your wall.

Paper, software and setup details

Desktop and configuration note

This exact selected state is UPLIFT UPL075 UPL075-walnut-lam-42x24-NG: a 42 × 24 inch, one-inch Walnut Laminate top, black FRM075 wall-mounted frame, no grommet holes (option 13221), with black FRM072-BLK Basic Display Angled keypad (option 11390).

Load-rating interpretation

The FRM075 sheet states 175 lb lifting capacity inclusive of desktop weight. The selected top and accessory weights and residual payload are not reported; no separate static-load rating is established.

Operating and setup note

Powered single-column wall-mounted adjustment. FRM075 instructions require suitable wall attachment, a nearby grounded 120 V outlet, two-person assembly guidance and clearance through the movement path. No desktop power accessory is selected; FRM072 moves by holding the up/down controls, and its saved-height count, lock and user-set stops are not documented.
