Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Which exact Tria top and leg-color pair matters to you?
This assessment covers the Woodgrain top with Black legs. Branch identifies the top as laminated MDF; the finish name is not a solid-wood specification.
Explore this need in the finder →What minimum actual top length and depth must the included desktop meet?
The largest option is labeled 71 × 30 inches but measures 70.9 × 29.5. The smaller actual tops are 58 × 27 and 47.2 × 27 inches.
Explore this need in the finder →How low must the completed desk surface reach?
Branch states 25.5 inches as the minimum completed-surface height; a lower essential requirement is not met by this evidence.
Explore this need in the finder →Is laminated MDF acceptable, or is solid wood essential?
Branch specifies a laminated-MDF top. Woodgrain describes appearance and does not establish solid timber or veneer.

This is the Woodgrain-top, Black-leg version of Branch’s two-leg Tria, offered in three complete-desk sizes. The exact Black finish is established by the product selector; the representative image shows White legs, so use the selected SKU—not the image—to confirm the color you order.
Choose the Black base for the room, not a different performance promise
Branch lists Woodgrain as a top finish and Black as a base color in its U.S. Tria selector. The official variant feed gives separate complete-desk SKUs for 48 × 27, 58 × 27, and 71 × 30-inch options: 10-14-05-84, 10-14-09-84, and 10-14-13-84. They are finish-and-size choices within one Tria family. No source ties leg color to a different height range, control set, or load rating.
“Woodgrain” describes the surface appearance, not its construction. Branch identifies the top as laminated MDF, so this choice does not meet an essential requirement for solid timber or a real wood veneer. The black legs make a stronger visual contrast with the light wood-look top and can coordinate with dark monitor arms or other equipment. That is an appearance decision, not evidence of stronger steel, extra bracing, or a higher capacity.
Measure the usable top, not the rounded size label
The spec sheet lists the actual surfaces as 47.2 × 27 inches, 58 × 27 inches, and 70.9 × 29.5 inches. Branch’s 48 × 27 and 71 × 30 labels are rounded: neither one satisfies a strict 48-inch or 71-inch length minimum, and the largest top falls short of a true 30-inch depth. If the desk has to fit between fixed walls, account for the frame, feet, cable route, and chair path as well as the tabletop. If an arm clamp, microphone mount, or deep keyboard tray is part of your setup, check its required edge clearance against the actual top before treating the largest option as a fit.
The 47.2-inch version suits a tighter room, but offers less separation between a monitor, keyboard, and paperwork. The 58-inch top adds working length while keeping the same 27-inch depth. The 70.9 × 29.5-inch version is the largest, though it is not a full 30 inches deep. Choose by your equipment’s actual space needs, not the rounded label.
Check seated and standing height together
Branch gives a finished work-surface range of 25.5–48.9 inches, not a bare-frame range. Compare the low endpoint with your chair and keyboard height; if you need a surface below 25.5 inches, the published range does not meet that requirement. At the upper end, consider monitor height and cable slack. The three-stage legs provide this range; an OLED handset stores two positions. Listed features also include collision detection, Bluetooth connection to Branch’s ergonomics app, and programmable reminders, but the height limits still need to suit your body and equipment.
Branch reports a 1.3-inch-per-second operating speed and noise under 50 dB. These are manufacturer figures, not measurements from an independent test. The same caution applies to the 275-pound maximum/lift-capacity statement: the product sheet does not say whether that number is a static rating or a moving load, or whether desktop weight is included. It cannot establish a required static-capacity threshold. The handset includes a USB-C port, but its wattage is not specified in the material reviewed, so do not count it as a confirmed laptop-charging outlet.
Know what comes with the desk
The SKUs above are complete Tria desks with the selected top and powered frame. The top has a cable grommet; the product description also lists cable-management pieces. A dedicated Tria cable tray and in-desk power module are optional add-ons, not included merely because they appear in a staged image or product description. If built-in outlets or a covered tray are essential, verify the exact add-on and its compatibility before ordering. The Black leg finish itself does not add those parts.
The representative manufacturer view used here shows the same Woodgrain-look top with White legs. It is useful for recognizing the Tria shape, but it does not depict the Black frame, any one top size, or the optional accessories. Branch does not identify the image as a photograph or a rendering. Use the image caption and the exact selector text together rather than treating the visible color as proof of the ordered finish.
Who should keep Woodgrain / Black on the shortlist?
This finish pair suits a buyer who wants a dark frame under a light wood-look surface, accepts laminated MDF, and can work within one of the three measured sizes and the 25.5–48.9-inch range. It is not a fit for solid-wood, strict 71-inch-by-30-inch, or verified 200-pound static-load requirements. Do not substitute a finish name, rounded dimensions, or the unqualified 275-pound claim for those essentials.
In the finder, leave the exact Tria finish unconstrained if any color is acceptable; choose Woodgrain / Black only when the pair matters. A 70.9-inch length and 29.5-inch depth can fit the largest measured option, but increasing either threshold to a strict 71 or 30 inches removes it. If the Woodgrain top appeals but Black legs do not, compare the other Tria selector pairs. If your main requirement is a documented solid-wood top, or an independently established static rating, compare desks with evidence for those requirements instead of stretching this configuration’s claims.
