Branch Tria Standing Desk (White / Charcoal) review

A two-leg electric desk assessed here in three exact U.S. White-top / Charcoal-leg complete-desk selectors. Branch specifies a laminated-MDF surface; White is the finish name. Actual tops are 47.2 × 27, 58 × 27 and 70.9 × 29.5 inches, with a shared 25.5–48.9-inch finished-surface range.

A useful fit for

Best considered when a White top and White legs suit the workspace, one of the three actual desk surfaces fits the available footprint, and the 25.5–48.9-inch finished height range works with the user’s chair and working positions. Measure the actual desk and surrounding clearance.

The main tradeoff

The top is laminated MDF, not a documented solid-wood surface. The largest marketed 71 × 30 option is 70.9 × 29.5 inches in the spec sheet. Branch states 275 lb max capacity without specifying static versus moving-load basis or desktop-mass accounting; the cable tray and in-desk power are optional.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Which exact Tria top and leg-color pair should the desk match?

This assessment covers White top with White legs. The specification sheet identifies the desktop as laminated MDF; the White name is a finish, not a material claim.

What minimum actual top length and depth must the same complete desk provide?

The largest White / White plan measures 70.9 × 29.5 inches; the middle is 58 × 27 and the smallest is 47.2 × 27 inches. A 71 × 30 nominal label is rounded.

Branch Tria Standing Desk · White / Charcoal

This assessment covers three U.S. Tria selectors with a White laminated top and Charcoal legs. The size names are rounded: the largest surface is listed as 70.9 × 29.5 inches, not a full 71 × 30.

Pick the top by the space it really occupies

The White / Charcoal combination is a finish choice within Branch’s electric Tria family, not a separate lifting system. Its contrast is the practical distinction: a light work surface above a darker frame. The product selector lists 48 × 27, 58 × 27 and 71 × 30-inch options. Branch’s specification sheet gives the actual surfaces as 47.2 × 27, 58 × 27 and 70.9 × 29.5 inches. Plan around those actual dimensions, especially if a wall, cabinet or clamp-on accessory imposes a hard limit. A strict 71-inch minimum length or 30-inch depth is not met by the largest selector.

The 47.2-inch top leaves the least lateral room for a wide monitor arrangement, while the 58-inch size adds width without increasing the listed 27-inch depth. The largest gives more room for side-by-side equipment and paperwork but projects farther into the room. Sketch the monitor stands, keyboard, mouse and any frequently used items on paper or tape out the outline before choosing. Include chair travel, door swing and cable reach in that check; the product page does not promise that a particular multi-monitor setup will fit.

Check the working-height range against your users

Branch lists a completed work-surface range of 25.5 to 48.9 inches for Tria. Those are finished-desk heights, not a bare-frame minimum. The range starts lower than the published 28-inch minimum for Branch’s Duo, which can matter in a shared setup where a seated user needs a lower surface. The upper endpoint is also higher than the Duo’s stated 47.3 inches. Compare the endpoints with the actual seated and standing work positions you need, rather than assuming that a stated range proves ergonomic fit for every person. A desk can move between positions; it cannot compensate for a top that is too deep for the room or too small for the equipment.

Know what is included and what remains optional

Tria uses three-stage lifting columns and an OLED keypad with two programmable height presets. Branch also lists collision detection, sedentary reminders and USB-C charging at the handset. The product materials do not give a USB-C wattage in the reviewed configuration, so do not choose it as a substitute for a charger with a required output. The product page identifies built-in Bluetooth and iOS-app support for movement tracking and scheduled reminders; treat those as added controls, not a guarantee that the desk will automatically create a suitable work routine.

The desktop is laminated MDF, and White is the surface finish name rather than evidence of a solid-wood slab. A cable port and PET-felt cable organizer are included. The cable tray and in-desk power module are separate options, so a buyer who needs enclosed cable storage or tabletop outlets should check the accessory package rather than count them as part of the desk. The dark legs do not establish that any accessory is included or compatible with a particular cable route.

Interpret the load claim conservatively

Branch states a 275-pound maximum lift capacity. The documentation reviewed does not say whether that figure is static or moving capacity, or whether the desktop’s own mass is deducted. If an essential equipment-load limit depends on that distinction, the published number is not enough to confirm it. Keep the desktop, monitors and mounted equipment within the maker’s stated limit and ask Branch for a precise basis before relying on the number for a safety-critical calculation. No independent lifting or noise measurements are available here.

Compare the finish, then compare the need

Choose this selector when the White top and Charcoal frame suit the room; the same White surface is also sold with White legs, while Charcoal legs appear with Woodgrain, Natural Oak and Walnut top finishes. Those neighboring choices may solve a color preference, but this assessment does not treat the finish labels as proof of a different motor, load rating or height range. If the surface must be solid wood, Tria is not a match. If your measurements require at least 71 inches of actual length, the nominal 71-inch option still falls short. If neither issue applies, compare the three actual top sizes and the 25.5–48.9-inch finished range before adding optional power or cable accessories.

For a compact room, the 47.2 × 27-inch plan is the easiest of these three to place, provided your equipment fits. The 58 × 27-inch plan is the middle footprint. The 70.9 × 29.5-inch plan offers the most surface but needs the clearest floor and wall space. None is automatically the best choice: select the exact top and frame finish, confirm one complete-desk size meets your room and height requirements, and treat the included organizer, optional tray and optional power module as separate parts of the setup.
