Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Which exact Tria top and leg-color pair is listed?
This assessment covers Walnut top with Black legs. Branch specifies laminated MDF; Walnut does not establish solid walnut.

The three exact SKUs cover 47.2 × 27.0, 58.0 × 27.0 and 70.9 × 29.5-inch tops. The nominal 71 × 30 label is rounded.
Explore this need in the finder →How low must the finished Tria work surface reach?
The spec sheet gives the completed surface a 25.5-inch lower endpoint. A requirement below that is not met by these plans.
Explore this need in the finder →Is laminated MDF acceptable, or is solid wood required?
Branch identifies the Tria top as laminated MDF. Select it only if laminate is acceptable; this fact does not satisfy a solid-wood requirement.

The Walnut / Black Tria is the finish pair to consider when you want Branch’s powered two-leg desk with a brown, wood-look top and a dark base. The finish does not create a more capable Tria: the manufacturer describes the same three-stage columns, two saved positions and 25.5–48.9-inch finished-surface range across this desk. More consequential choices are the desktop size, whether the height range suits your seated position, and whether you need the separately sold cable tray or in-desk power.
What this exact selector includes
Branch’s U.S. selector feed lists three Walnut / Black complete-desk SKUs. The included desktop measures 47.2 × 27 inches for the nominal 48 × 27 option (SKU 10-14-05-86), 58 × 27 inches for the nominal 58 × 27 (10-14-09-86), or 70.9 × 29.5 inches for the nominal 71 × 30 (10-14-13-86). These are three separate size plans, not one desk with an adjustable or interchangeable top. If your room has a hard 71-inch length or 30-inch depth minimum, the largest advertised label is not enough: the specification sheet’s measured dimensions fall short of both.
The finish names need a material caveat. Branch identifies the Tria desktop as laminated MDF; “Walnut” describes its appearance, not solid walnut. If you want real walnut timber, this is the wrong material even if the color works. The listed surface is a practical finished top, but the manufacturer does not document a wood-veneer construction for this selection.
Choose a size around your actual work area
The 47.2-inch surface is the compact choice for a laptop, one display and modest paperwork, provided you measure the width of your arms and accessories before ordering. The 58-inch plan gives a more forgiving span for a display and open work area without adding depth. The largest plan is the one to check for a broad keyboard, monitor base or reference materials, yet its 29.5-inch depth remains just under a true 30-inch requirement. Measure the room, the path for the chair and the desk’s operating clearance rather than using “48,” “58” or “71” as exact finished dimensions.
Controls and cable handling
Tria uses three-stage lifting columns and an OLED handset with two programmable height positions. Branch also describes sedentary reminders, collision detection and Bluetooth pairing with its Ergonomics app for movement tracking and scheduled standing. Those are manufacturer-listed functions, not an independent test of obstruction response, motor life, noise or lifting speed. The handset’s USB-C port is documented, but its charging wattage is not; do not assume it will replace a dedicated charger for a demanding laptop.
A cable port and felt organizer are included, while the larger cable tray and in-desk power are optional. The selector does not show a built-in power panel, drawer or casters as part of these three plans. If an orderly setup is essential, decide whether the included organizer is sufficient or budget and verify the optional hardware before comparing prices. Route enough slack for the handset and connected cables to travel through the full lift range.
Fit, capacity and practical limits
Branch states a finished surface range from 25.5 to 48.9 inches. That can be a useful envelope for a broad range of users, but check the low endpoint against your chair and elbow position; the product sheet gives no separate bare-frame measurement. The listed 275-pound figure is called “max capacity” or “lift capacity,” without explaining static versus moving load or whether the desktop’s own weight is deducted. It should not be treated as a confirmed static rating. If a specified load threshold is essential, require a rating with a clear basis rather than assuming this number answers it.
Branch states a ten-year warranty for tabletop and frame components. Read the current terms and exclusions, especially if the warranty or a particular accessory will determine your purchase. The maker’s care note calls for a soft cloth with warm, soapy water on the top, followed by streak-free glass cleaner; use mild soap and water for the frame.
Who should shortlist it?
Choose this exact selector if Walnut laminate and Black legs are the finish you want, one of its three measured tops fits, and a two-leg electric desk with an included top meets your plan. The Walnut / Charcoal and Walnut / White Tria selectors share the documented Tria performance claims; their practical distinction is the leg finish, not a sourced difference in lifting capability. Branch’s image shows a Walnut top with dark legs but does not reliably distinguish Black from Charcoal or identify a particular size, so use the selected SKU for exact finish and dimensions.
Look elsewhere if a solid-wood top, a 30-inch-deep surface, a lower-than-25.5-inch finished height or a stated static-load rating is non-negotiable. If you are comparing finish alone, prioritize the exact SKU and the top size that meets the room and equipment need; do not pay more based on an assumption that black legs upgrade the frame.
