Branch Duo Standing Desk (48 × 24, Walnut top; White, Eggshell, Sage, Charcoal or Black legs) review

A complete two-leg electric desk assessed with the exact 48 × 24 inches Walnut top-color and White-leg selection. Branch describes the Duo desktop family as laminated MDF; Walnut is a manufacturer finish label, not evidence of solid walnut or veneer. The fit decision is the measured 48-inch by 24-inch work surface. The same Walnut top and 48 × 24 inches footprint are also offered with Black legs (SKU 10-10-05-86, variant 41020161032227); this is a finish-only complete-desk choice, not a separate work-surface size.

A useful fit for

Best considered when a complete powered desk with a 48-inch-wide by 24-inch-deep top fits the measured room and equipment. Check actual monitor bases, keyboard and work area against that surface and compare seated/standing positions with the manufacturer-stated completed-work-surface range. Walnut is the manufacturer's top-color label over laminated MDF, not confirmation of solid wood.

The main tradeoff

This middle Duo size adds a foot of width over 36 × 24 while retaining a 24-inch depth; 58 × 27 adds three inches of depth. The 275 lb lift-capacity/weight-limit figure has no stated static/dynamic basis or desktop-mass accounting; Walnut does not mean solid walnut.

The Branch Duo Standing Desk in Walnut / White with a 48 × 24-inch top is the middle size among the three exact Duo desktop footprints in the saved U.S. selector. SKU 10-10-05-30 and variant 39960305696803 identify this complete desk configuration. The key attraction is eight square feet of work surface without the extra three inches of depth found on the 58 × 27-inch option. That balance may suit a room that needs more width than the compact 36-inch model but cannot spare a deeper top.

Branch also lists a Walnut-top 48 × 24-inch Duo with Eggshell legs (SKU 10-10-05-117; variant 42450185289763). It keeps the same footprint considered above while changing the frame finish, so it does not solve a space constraint that the White-leg version cannot. The Eggshell selector changes the frame finish only; compare the selected color against the product selector before ordering.

For the Walnut 48 × 24 top, Branch also lists Sage legs as SKU 10-10-05-67, Charcoal legs as SKU 10-10-05-32, and Black legs as SKU 10-10-05-86 (variant 41020161032227). Each is a complete desk with the same eight-square-foot work surface; the darker Black frame changes the look, not the fit tradeoff, storage or power. The exact Black selector image above shows that leg finish, without optional add-ons. Choose 36 × 24 if room matters more; move to 58 × 27 if you also need more front-to-back space.

Its advantage is lateral room, not a bigger depth

The 48-inch long side gives an additional foot of width over the 36 × 24 Duo, while both are 24 inches deep. That extra span can help separate a display from a laptop or leave more space for a notebook and keyboard, but a desk dimension alone cannot promise a layout. Measure monitor feet, arm-clamp locations, the keyboard and any speakers. Check that the screen will sit at a comfortable distance within the 24-inch front-to-back depth; wall clearance and cables matter too.

The 58 × 27 model adds ten inches of length and three inches of depth over this one. If the limiting factor is only width, the 48-inch plan may avoid taking more floor space front-to-back. If a deeper monitor stand or writing area is the actual problem, the 58 × 27 has the different dimension you need. The 36 × 24 remains the smaller alternative where every inch of room clearance matters. These are separate selected top sizes, not a telescoping desktop that grows after purchase.

The Walnut finish does not establish natural wood

Branch identifies the Duo top as laminated MDF and presents Walnut as a top-color choice. The name should not be read as proof of solid-walnut or walnut-veneer surface. The image shown here is attached in the U.S. selector feed to the Walnut / Charcoal 48 × 24 selection, SKU 10-10-05-32 / variant 39960305762339; it is a finish sibling to the White configuration reviewed in the opening. Branch does not identify the image as photography or a rendering. The visual does not establish surface construction or included add-ons. If a particular real-wood species is non-negotiable, the written material description is insufficient for that need.

Daily adjustments and the height boundary

The published completed-surface range is 28–47.3 inches. The product listing includes a two-motor frame, two memory presets, an OLED paddle control, programmable reminders and collision detection. Branch lists speed up to 1.3 inches per second and operating noise below 50 dB; these remain maker-stated specifications, not independent test results. The range belongs to the desktop-equipped configuration, not a bare-frame minimum. Compare it with the actual seated and standing work heights you need. A requirement for a surface below 28 inches or above 47.3 inches is not supported by the stated endpoints.

Branch's 275-pound figure is described as lift capacity or a weight limit, but the material reviewed does not specify whether it is a static or dynamic rating or whether it includes the top's weight. Keep that limitation in view if you are selecting for a heavy monitor arm or several devices. No static/dynamic load figure is claimed here, and the manufacturer number should not be converted into a tested working load.

Budget for organization separately

The selected desk includes a cable notch and clips according to the specification, but no cable tray, drawer, casters or built-in power panel is listed as included. The cable organizer and desk drawer are optional add-ons, and using the app requires an optional Bluetooth adapter. If those components are essential, verify the exact package before ordering. The visible isolated product image is not an inventory of everything in the box.

The assembly guide calls for two people; plan a clear assembly zone, and route power and device cords so they have slack across the full lift. Branch lists a ten-year Duo warranty, subject to its current terms and exclusions. The desk's published feature set does not establish how steady it feels under your own typing load, and no hands-on stability test is claimed.

When this is the useful middle option

Keep the 48 × 24 Walnut / White selection in consideration when a measured 48-inch span solves your layout, the 24-inch depth fits your equipment, and the 28–47.3-inch finished range works for your body. Choose 36 × 24 if room and compactness matter more than a broad surface; compare 58 × 27 when both width and depth must increase. A requirement for confirmed natural wood, integrated outlets, included drawer, lower minimum height or a documented static load should move you to a configuration that explicitly supports it. The product's finish label and general marketing claims cannot fill those gaps.
