Branch Duo Standing Desk (48 × 24, Maple / White) review

A complete two-leg electric desk assessed with the exact 48 × 24 inches Maple top-color and White legs selector. The 48-inch surface is wider than the compact 36-inch Duo while remaining 24 inches deep; Branch describes the top material as laminated MDF, so Maple is a finish label rather than proof of solid maple wood.

A useful fit for

Best considered when a complete powered desk with a 48-inch-wide by 24-inch-deep top fits the measured room and equipment. Check the actual seated and standing surface heights; Maple is the manufacturer top-color label over listed laminated MDF, not confirmation of a solid-wood surface.

The main tradeoff

This is the middle Duo size: more lateral area than 36 × 24 without the 27-inch depth of the 58 × 27 option. The 275 lb lift-capacity/weight-limit figure has no stated static/dynamic basis or desktop-mass accounting; the Maple name does not establish a natural-wood surface.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

What minimum tabletop length must the chosen configuration support?

This exact complete Duo plan includes a 48-inch-long top. The 36-inch selection is shorter, while the 58-inch option is larger.

What is the highest acceptable minimum desktop-surface height?

Branch specifies a 28-inch minimum for the completed Duo work surface. That figure is not a bare-frame endpoint.

The Branch Duo in Maple with White legs is the 48 × 24-inch selection: a complete electric desk with a pale, Maple-labeled surface and a two-leg frame. Its practical appeal is the middle footprint in the Duo range. The 48-inch width adds room beyond the compact 36-inch top, while the 24-inch depth avoids the extra front-to-back reach of the 58 × 27-inch size. It is a useful fit for someone whose measured room and daily layout call for that balance—not a promise that every monitor arrangement will fit.

“Maple” is a finish name, not a wood guarantee

Branch’s Duo specification identifies the top as laminated MDF and lists Maple as a top-color option. The selected name therefore describes the maker’s finish choice; it does not establish solid maple or a maple-veneer surface. The official selector ties this particular top, White legs and 48 × 24-inch size to SKU 10-10-05-92. The product view shows that exact pale top and leg color, but an isolated product image cannot tell you how the surface will look under your room lighting. If real wood construction is essential, this configuration’s materials description does not meet that need.

Measure the work area, not only the desk label

The 48-inch long side gives more lateral room than the 36 × 24 model for a wider screen arrangement, laptop, keyboard and papers. Branch identifies the 48- and 58-inch Duo sizes as the options for a two-monitor setup, but monitor stands, arm clamps, speakers and the distance you want between screens still determine whether your own equipment fits. Sketch the equipment’s footprints or measure a layout before choosing. The top is 24 inches deep. That can be a helpful boundary in a shallow room, but a large stand, deep keyboard position or paperwork may make a deeper surface more comfortable. The 58 × 27-inch Duo is the next size to compare if the missing three inches of depth matter and the room can take its larger footprint.

The top’s exact dimensions are more useful here than an unverified outside-footprint promise: Branch’s saved specifications do not establish the complete leg-to-leg envelope for every placement. If a wall, radiator, chair path or cabinet leaves only a precise amount of clearance, measure the floor layout and confirm the frame dimensions with Branch before ordering. Do not treat the top’s 24-inch depth as the complete desk’s maximum reach.

Height range and controls

Branch lists a 28-to-47.3-inch completed work-surface range for the Duo. This is the height of the surface above the floor, not a bare-frame measurement. Check both ends against the height at which you actually work; someone who needs a surface below 28 inches should not assume that a frame-only figure or a different chair will solve the mismatch. The Duo uses two legs and two motors, with a two-position OLED paddle, programmable reminders and manufacturer-listed collision detection. The listed 1.3-inch-per-second lift speed and under-50-decibel operating-noise figure are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. If stored positions matter, two presets may be enough for a single user’s sitting and standing heights; they offer fewer saved slots for a shared desk.

Keep the load and accessories in perspective

The manufacturer describes a 275-pound lift capacity or weight limit, but the product page and spec sheet do not state whether it is a static or dynamic rating or how the desktop’s own weight is counted. A buyer comparing desks by a specifically documented static load should treat this value as unconfirmed rather than as a verified static payload. The included cable notch and clips help route a basic setup, but the selected configuration does not include a cable tray, drawer or built-in AC outlet panel. Keep cables long enough to move through the full height range and away from the lifting parts. The user guide calls for two-person assembly; it is worth planning for that help rather than treating setup as a one-person quick install. App control also requires an optional Bluetooth adapter, so do not assume the pictured desk includes it.

Who should choose this version?

Choose this Maple / White selection when a 48 × 24-inch top is the measured fit, you want Duo’s powered two-leg frame and the laminated-MDF surface is acceptable. The ordinary size questions should keep it only when a 48-inch minimum length is useful and the room can accommodate a 24-inch-deep top. The work-surface question should also reject it if you need a lower minimum than 28 inches; a separate static-capacity requirement cannot be answered from the published 275-pound figure.

Compare the 36 × 24 Maple / White Duo if the same light finish matters but your room or equipment needs a narrower top. Compare the 58 × 27 Woodgrain / White Duo if you want more width and depth and can give it the space. Neither the color name nor the feature list should override the fit check: verify the real room envelope, your seated and standing heights, device placement and any load criterion that matters before buying.
