Setup and ownership

Plan cables and assembly before the desk is upright

Height-adjustable desks move every attached cable, not only the tabletop. A clean-looking tray can conceal the power strip, but it cannot make a short monitor lead longer or prevent a cord from catching a chair arm. Use the exact frame manual, arrange a full travel path, and test the finished setup before routing every cable tightly.

Check what the selected frame includes

The FlexiSpot E7 manual shows a cable-management tray, while the E7 Pro product page and E7-Pro-V2 manual document an extended tray and magnetic fabric cover. The E7 Plus manual's parts list shows cable ties but does not identify a dedicated tray. Do not assume that nearby models include the same accessories. Check whether your order is frame-only, which top is selected and whether a separate cable-management option has been added.

Assemble before tying cables into place

Follow the model-specific assembly sequence for the frame width, leg direction, top screw placement, control box and handset. Manuals warn against pinching wires and describe where to connect lifting-column leads. Protect the floor during assembly and ask another person for help where the manual recommends it; FlexiSpot's E7 Plus manual calls for two or more people. Keep tools and packaging clear of children and do not power the frame until electrical connections are made as shown.

Give moving wires enough slack

Position the desk at its lowest setting and plan a loop that can extend when the desk rises. Keep plugs and adapters outside the path of the moving legs. Do not let a power lead hang where it can catch a chair, foot or drawer. If you use a monitor arm, account for its motion as well as the desk's. Route first, then move the surface through its complete range while watching every connection. A cable that looks tidy at sitting height can pull tight at standing height.

Use controls and duty cycles as written

The E7 and E7 Plus manuals describe a two-minute-on/eighteen-minute-off cycle. If the controller indicates overuse, let it rest for the period in the exact manual rather than repeatedly pressing the controls. The manuals also explain child lock, reset and collision sensitivity. Collision prevention does not replace checking beneath the desk for a chair, drawer, cable bundle, pet or other obstruction.

Clean and maintain with power disconnected

FlexiSpot's warnings say to unplug the power supply before cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth, keep liquids away from electrical components and avoid corrosive or abrasive cleaners. Check the feet and fasteners after installation and keep the control box and cable connectors dry. If a motor or controller reports an error, use the exact manual's troubleshooting steps and contact the manufacturer if the fault remains. Do not improvise an electrical repair or apply a general reset procedure from a different desk family.

Make the measurements work before choosing a finish.
